Happy Holidays!
On behalf of all of us here I’d like to wish all Bastion families a very wonderful holiday season. The students and staff alike are all excited to finish up today and enjoy some well deserved rest and fun with our families.
We have much to celebrate this December! Thank you to so many who supported our recent Scholastic Book fair. With over $4000 of sales made, that provides Mme. Shannon $2000 to spend in books for our library. This is incredibly helpful, so thank you. Additionally, we are grateful for the support of food bank donations. We were able to transport several boxes of dry goods to the Salvation Army for distribution this month.
Other celebratory events included the Winter Concert. Huge thanks to all the students who sang and acted, to the many hands on the staff end who supported our endeavour and to parent who attended. Our community is so strong, and it was a delight to have over 700 supporters at the concert. Thank you. We were able to deliver several boxes of food to the Salvation army with the dry good donations leading up to the winter concert. Additionally, our winter bake sale sponsored by the grade 5 leadership group raised $336.65 that will be donated to support local wildfire relief. The generosity of our community is significant and meaningful. Thank you for supporting your children in these endeavours.
We have some fun events coming up in January. Please keep an eye on our school website for details. Highlights will include Carnival, Unplug & Play, cross-country skiing and skating. Lots going on! The class skating schedules will be posted on our website today. We are thankful to any families that are able to come and help lace skates or even better, get on the ice with students.
The office closes today at 2:30pm, and we regather on Monday January 8. While we will be powering down for normal operations over the holidays, if something comes up that is urgent and that you need for us to be aware of, please always feel to reach out and send an email to me personally, or to the Bastion office. I always keep an eye on things.
All our very best!
