Breakfast Club and Orange Shirt Day

Dear Bastion families,

It was wonderful to be able to participate in our annual Terry Fox Run today. Many thanks to Mme Tollenaar for organizing this event, Mme Valerie for her technical assistance and the Grade 4 students in M. Ajohn’s class who did the daily silver collection. Many thanks also to our Bastion community for their generous support of this event.

Looking ahead, here are some items to note:

1. Breakfast Club: Thank you to those who have signed up to volunteer their time to support this valuable program. We have enough volunteers to run the program, but feel free to contact the school if you would like to support in some way. Breakfast Club opens at 7:40am. At 8:00am, students begin heading back to their outside classroom door, but breakfast items “on the go” (piece of fruit or toast, etc) are available. The club closes up at the 8:07 Welcoming Bell so that students can be in their classrooms on time.

2. Orange Shirt Day: Friday, September 29 staff and students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt in honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day. We are honoured to live on these lands and be a part of this community.
