Bits & Bites for the week ahead

Three important items of note in the next few days:

1.  Fire Drill #1:  tomorrow morning we will have our first fire drill of the year.  Given the challenging summer of wildfires this past couple of months, I wanted to alert parents to this event in case you’d like to chat with your children.  Rest assured that our teachers and team will have worked to prepare them for tomorrow with great instructions. The plan will be for this to happen shortly before lunch. 

2.  Orange Shirt Day on Friday.  In honour of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, we will wear orange shirts on Friday, Sept. 29.Students are encouraged to participate.  Each class will take part in some age appropriate activiites that support and educate students around the meaning behind Orange Shirt Day. Note that our flags will be drawn to half-mast at the end of the day in honour of the actual National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, which is Sept. 30.
 

3. Monday, Oct 2: No school Monday. In recognition of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, schools will be closed on Monday. We’ll see the students bright and early Tuesday morning.
