For those of you who were able to attend the Bastion Fun Family Skate, thank you for joining us!! The children and their families enjoying themselves skating was wonderful to see. A big thank you goes out to Mel Howard and the PAC for planning and organizing the event!!

Monday, March 2nd
Permission Forms Due. If your child is in French Immersion, the permission form for the Festival du Film is due today. If you were not able to return the form today, please ensure your child hands in the form, first thing on Tuesday morning. Here is a link to download a copy of the permission form:

Tuesday, March 3rd
Festival du Film. All of the French Immersion students in Kindergarten to Gr. 5, will be going to the Salmar Classic Theatre for the annual Festival du Film. The students will watch La course des tuques. For students in Kindergarten to Gr. 2, the movie will begin at 9:00 am. The students in Gr. 3-5 will start the movie at 12:00 pm. All student will walk to the theatre and ride the bus back to the school.
Wednesday, March 4th
Art Fair Workshops. The Annual School District No. 83 Art Fair is on display all week, at Piccadilly Mall. On Wednesday, there are workshops taking place throughout the mall. Some of our Grade 4/5 students have been selected to participate in a variety of art workshops. It’s pretty neat to see students from all over the school district come together to be creative and produce some amazing artwork. A big thank you to Mrs. Rosman, Mrs. Bartsch, and Mr. Wes for organizing the art displays and for working out all of the details, enabling twenty of our students to participate in the workshops.
Thursday, March 5th
Grade 4/5 Talent Show. After months of organizing, preparation and practice, the Grade 4/5 students who have volunteered to perform at the Talent Show will get their “15 minutes of fame” (well… more like two minutes, but it will be a very exciting two minutes!). It takes lots of courage for students to get up and sing, dance or tell jokes to the their peers. The Talent Show will begin at 10:00 and family members are more than welcome to join us. A special thank you goes to Mme Candy and her Grade 4/5 organizers!!
Fun Food Orders Due. March’s Fun Food Day will take place on Thursday, March 12th. For those families who have not had a chance to order, please ensure orders are submitted by this Thursday. Here is the link of online ordering or to download an order form: https://bas.sd83.bc.ca/fun-food-days/
Friday, March 6th
Hometown Hockey Assembly at SMS. Our Grade 4/5 classes that participated in the school district’s math competition in February, will go to a Hometown Hockey assembly at Shuswap Middle School. All of the schools that participated will convene at SMS and celebrate the opportunity for Salmon Arm to be showcased in Sunday’s edition of Hometown Hockey on Rogers Sportsnet. The students will walk to SMS and ride the bus back to the school. Please ensure your son or daughter’s permission form is returned to the school. Don’t forget about the various community events that will be taking place over the weekend!
Report Cards. Your child(ren) will bring home their report card on Friday. Once you have reviewed the report card with your child(ren), please be sure to celebrate the successes and do some goal-setting for areas that require development. The cover sheet of the report card will need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the school, in the envelope. Please be sure to return the cover sheet and envelope by Wednesday, March 11th.
